About Skills Evolution
Training with purpose.
Skills Evolution was created with a simple goal — to provide practical, engaging training that gives people the skills and confidence to act when it matters.
Through years of working in healthcare, we’ve seen first-hand the difference that early recognition and confident action can make. We’ve also seen what can happen when people want to help but don’t feel they have the knowledge or confidence to step forward.
That’s where Skills Evolution comes in.
We believe training should be more than completing a course, meeting a mandatory training requirement or simply ticking a box.
It should be practical, relevant and engaging — giving you the opportunity to understand what you’re doing, practise your skills and leave with knowledge and confidence you can actually use in the real world.
Skills Evolution provides a growing range of healthcare, first aid, workplace and community training, all built around the same philosophy — practical learning that develops real skills and confidence.
Whether you’re learning for work, developing your professional skills or simply want to be better prepared, our goal is the same:
To give you the skills and confidence to step forward when it matters.

Gail Purves
Founder | Registered Nurse | Educator
Gail is a Registered Nurse with more than 20 years of healthcare experience, bringing extensive real-world clinical knowledge and a genuine passion for education to Skills Evolution.
Throughout her career, Gail has worked across a range of healthcare settings, with experience including Emergency Department, acute care and Oncology, as well as clinical education. This diverse clinical background has given her experience caring for people across a wide range of situations — from responding to acute and lifethreatening emergencies through to supporting people with complex and ongoing healthcare needs.
Her current work in healthcare education has given her the opportunity to support learners at all stages — from those developing new skills through to experienced healthcare professionals.
Gail believes the best learning happens when people feel comfortable asking questions, getting involved and having a go. Her training style is practical, supportive and down-to-earth, with a strong focus on helping learners understand not only what to do, but why they are doing it.
For Gail, training isn't about standing at the front of a room and working through a presentation. It's about sharing real-world experience, creating opportunities to practice and helping people develop skills they feel confident using outside the training room.
Her goal is for every learner to leave feeling more knowledgeable, more capable and more confident than when they arrived.
“The skills you learn today could one day be used to provide care to me or even to save my life. That's why I want you to leave genuinely confident that you can use them when it matters.” - Gail
